Role Description
The User Interface Designer will work on-site in Buea in a full-time capacity, collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and UX designers to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces for the iConz marketplace and mobile applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and refining UI layouts, components, and interaction patterns, producing mockups and design assets, and ensuring brand consistency across platforms. The role involves translating user and business requirements into clear visual concepts, participating in design reviews, and iterating based on feedback and usability insights. The designer will also support front-end implementation by providing detailed specifications and collaborating with engineers to maintain design quality.
Qualifications
- Strong User Interface Design and Visual Design skills, with the ability to create clean, modern, and accessible interfaces.
- Experience producing high-quality Mockups and design assets for web and mobile applications.
- Understanding of User Experience (UX) principles and the ability to collaborate with UX professionals to improve usability.
- Basic to intermediate Front-End Development knowledge (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support effective collaboration with engineering teams.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Relevant education or training in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing for marketplace, e-commerce, or mobile-first products is an advantage.
