About the Opportunity
Ecobank Cameroun S.A., a subsidiary of The Pan African Bank, is seeking a high-performing and analytical candidate to fill the position of Fixed Income Trader. Based in Douala, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing securities trading activities while remaining flexible to work across the national territory.

Job Purpose
The main objective of the Fixed Income Trader is to ensure the efficient trading of securities (specifically bills and bonds) on both the primary and secondary markets for CEMAC affiliates, operating strictly within approved regulatory frameworks and internal bank guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for executing the following operational tasks:
- Implement the bank’s Fixed Income Trading strategy on a daily basis.
- Analyze market movements, trends, and yield curve shifts within the fixed income market.
- Negotiate securities on the primary market within established limits.
- Edit and publish daily fixed income trading reports, including positions, limits, and valuations.
- Inform internal and external stakeholders regarding market developments, quote fluctuations, and market trends.
- Negotiate securities effectively on the secondary market.
- Build and nurture strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Handle all administrative reports and internal documentation related to trading activities.
- Publish periodic market data reports detailing trading performance and market insights.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: Minimum of a Bac + 3 degree (Bachelor’s degree equivalent) in Finance, Management, Banking, or Accounting.
- Experience: Prior experience in treasury, money market operations, or general trading is preferred.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Broad knowledge of banking practices, financial instruments, and regulatory environments.
- Exceptional numerical ability (“very good with numbers”).
- Strong negotiation capabilities and financial analysis skills.

- Ability to identify market opportunities proactively.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently meet strict deadlines.
- Strong capacity to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
